Barsh, co-chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A.'s Environmental Practice, gave a presentation titled "Current Environmental Policies and Issues from the Legal Practitioner's Perspective Including the Intersections of Local, State, and Federal Regulatory Policy Matters" to students of the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy Feb. 17.
Barsh spoke about key environmental issues of the day, including climate change, water permitting in the United States, and Brownfields cleanup. She also discussed environmental law practice and a few specific matters on which she has worked, including the Lake Belt permitting, the Port of Miami tunnel, and Amillarah private floating islands. The presentation and subsequent Q&A focused on the intersections of legal, regulatory, and policy matters of an environmental nature, at all levels of government.
The Eisenhower School prepares senior military officers as well as civilians for potential national security challenges. The school uses strategic and operational concepts, advanced technology, global development identification and innovation with the armed services to achieve a coherent national security entity for the United States.
