Milk Specialties Global (“Milk Specialties” or the “Company”), an industry-leading, vertically integrated ingredient manufacturer focused on the processing of raw dairy inputs into value-added functional ingredients for a variety of growing nutrition end markets, today announced that industry veteran Vincent Macciocchi has joined the Company’s board of directors.
Mr. Macciocchi, who has more than a quarter century of experience in the ingredients industry, currently serves as senior vice president at ADM and president of its Nutrition business unit. Mr. Macciocchi is responsible for ADM’s human nutrition, animal nutrition and health and wellness businesses, which together contribute more than $7 billion of annual revenue and over $700 million of annual operating profit. He also serves as the company’s chief sales and marketing officer, where he is responsible for the company’s global sales and marketing activities.
Mr. Macciocchi joined ADM in 2014 at the time of ADM’s acquisition of WILD Flavors from KKR. At WILD Flavors, Mr. Macciocchi served as president and previously North American chief operating officer since 2012. Prior to joining WILD Flavors, he spent more than a decade at Givaudan.
“We are incredibly excited to have Vince join our board,” said Milk Specialties CEO David Lenzmeier. “He is renowned in the ingredients industry for his business acumen and vision, and his commercial expertise, operational know-how, and industry network will be tremendously valuable as we embark on our next phase of growth.”
As a member of the board, Mr. Macciocchi will advise the Company on commercial strategy and various growth-oriented strategic initiatives. The appointment of Mr. Macciocchi to the board comes at an exciting time in the Company’s history. The Company recently announced the completion of a new production facility in Jerome, ID that will process 2.5 million pounds of milk per day and offer North American customers an alternative supply of domestically produced acid and rennet casein products. Additionally, the Company is nearing completion on a significant expansion of its Norfolk, NE facility, which will process close to 3 million pounds of milk per day and offer a domestic supply of calcium and sodium caseinates to customers.
"I am honored to become a member of the Milk Specialties board of directors as the Company enters this next phase of expansion,” said Vince Macciocchi. “The Company is set up for success with strong leadership, a great partner in Butterfly, and a business model well-aligned with many of today's leading consumer macro trends in the high value ingredients space. The future is bright for Milk Specialties, and I look forward to being a part of it.”
In February 2023, Milk Specialties partnered with Butterfly, a leading private equity firm that specializes in the food sector. Butterfly has a history of partnering with leading businesses like Milk Specialties; its portfolio also includes Orgain, Chosen Foods, Pete and Gerry’s Organics, and Bolthouse Farms.
“Vince is a seasoned veteran in the ingredients space and brings a tremendous amount of perspective and pattern recognition to the table,” said Butterfly Co-Founder and Co-CEO Adam Waglay. “I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside him as a fellow board member as we continue to drive long-term value creation at the Company.”
