AMCP is a professional organization dedicated to improving patient health by ensuring access to high-quality, cost-effective medications and other therapies. While at Priority Health, Barrington has been serving as president-elect of AMCP since 2023; before that, she served as treasurer and chair of the finance committee. Barrington has also served three terms as president for the AMCP Midwest Affiliate.

She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in Missouri and completed her residency in clinical pharmacy practice at University Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Barrington formerly served as a member of the 2016 URAC Measures Advisory and Research Group, as a board member for the Illinois Foundation for Quality Health Care and on the National Diabetes Education Panel.
