The Hundred Club of Massachusetts Highlights Benefits for Families of Firefighters and Police Officers in Cases of Non-Line-of-Duty Deaths

Since 1990, more than 200 Boston firefighters have died of cancer, and every year 20 firefighters are diagnosed with the disease--2.5 times the rate of other Boston residents. Along with the risk of illness, firefighters and police officers alike are five times more likely than civilians to suffer from symptoms of PTS and depression.
