  • FEMM Committee Chairman Biedroń reminded that celebrations around the International Women's Day are not just about celebrating achievements that women have accomplished, but also a reminder that women's rights are experiencing a backlash in many places around the world, such as in Iran and also in Europe.
  • Women have been at the forefront of every protest in Iran, since the early days of the revolution where women were central to the movement.
  • Dr. Ebadi highlighted the importance of the Women Life Freedom movement for the democratic future of Iran.
