HOUSTON, June 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Houston's Emancipation Park Conservancy is hosting a summer celebration to commemorate its sesquicentennial anniversary and honor Juneteenth, the nation's newest federal holiday. The holiday recognizes June 19, 1865, the date that enslaved people across Texas learned that they were free, two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
